Even without activating the dedicated game mode, the low latency of 38ms ensures that there’s minimal lag, making these earbuds a strong contender for gaming enthusiasts. Once you enable game mode, the sound quality improves even further, delivering precise in-game sounds without noticeable delay.
Although some earbuds claim slightly lower latencies, don’t let the numbers fool you. Despite having a listed latency of 38ms, these buds performed exceptionally well during gameplay, even outperforming some models that claim 35ms latency. If you’re primarily looking for gaming performance, the Cosmo Buds X200 is one of the top choices in this price range.
3. Number Super Buds Pro GT99
The Number Super Buds Pro GT99 stands out as an affordable yet powerful option in the world of TWS earbuds, priced at just ₹800. Its design is quite eye-catching, resembling car headlights when opened, giving it a unique, futuristic look.
Despite its budget-friendly price, it offers 50 hours of playback time and Type-C charging, with the added benefit of fast charging—just 15 minutes of charge gives you 150 minutes of use. Equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers, it delivers impressive sound quality for music. The bass is punchy, the trebles are clear, and the vocals come through crisp, making it one of the best options for music in this price range.
When it comes to gaming, the 35ms low latency ensures smooth performance. Sound cues like enemy footsteps and directional audio are clear and responsive, making it an excellent option for gaming at this price point. There’s very little to complain about at this price tag, and if you’re on a budget and need something for both gaming and music, this is a fantastic choice.

It comes with 40ms low latency and still delivers a solid gaming experience. Even though 40ms may sound higher than some other models, in practice, the difference is minimal, and it performs slightly better than some 35ms options. You’ll only notice a small amount of lag, but it’s not enough to disrupt gameplay.
If you’re looking for good battery life and solid gaming performance without needing ANC, the Noise Buds Combat X is a worthy contender in the sub-₹2000 range.
5. Number Buds 999
The Number Buds 999 offers an interesting design that might remind you of a bug, and for ₹1000, it delivers 55 hours of gaming time, which is quite generous for this price range. One standout feature is its 40 dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which is impressive for an entry-level TWS, as ANC is not often seen in such budget options.
When it comes to music, the experience is acceptable but not remarkable—it’s good for casual listening but doesn’t offer the best clarity or depth in sound. If music is your priority, this might not be your best option.
As for gaming, it boasts 35ms low latency, but my experience felt closer to 50ms. While it’s still okay for casual gaming, the performance didn’t live up to the promise of 35ms, and there was a slight lag, likely due to Bluetooth limitations.
These are great if you’re looking for affordable TWS with ANC and decent gaming performance, but don’t expect it to blow you away with latency or sound quality.
6. Cross Beats Sonic 3
The Cross Beats Sonic 3 offers 60 hours of gaming playback and comes with Bluetooth 5.3, which ensures stable connectivity. If you’re considering this for music, it’s a letdown. The bass is weak, the vocals are poor, and the treble lacks clarity, making it an overall disappointment for music enthusiasts. Despite its high price, this seems to be built with gaming in mind rather than sound quality.

You will notice some slight lag, but given the ₹1000 price tag, it’s an acceptable trade-off. 9. Boult Audio Air Bass
The Boult Audio Air Bass, commonly known as the Mustang or UFO due to its unique design, stands out for its larger size compared to other TWS earbuds on the market. This model features an interesting design choice with two USB Type-C ports, which some speculate allows for faster charging when both are connected, although the need for such fast charging is questionable.
In terms of specifications, the Air Bass offers 48 hours of playback time, which is quite decent for long listening sessions. The 13mm drivers provide a solid audio experience, particularly for music. While it is marketed as a gaming TWS, I would recommend it primarily for music. The sound quality is acceptable—the bass is decent, but the treble response is lacking, which can impact gaming performance since good treble helps in pinpointing sounds like enemy footsteps.
When it comes to gaming performance, the Air Bass boasts 45 milliseconds of low latency. However, in my experience, it doesn’t quite deliver on that promise, feeling more like a 50-60ms latency. This could result in noticeable delays during fast-paced gaming scenarios, which might frustrate competitive players.
10. boAt Airdopes 190
Priced at ₹1700, the boAt Airdopes 190 has an eye-catching design that immediately gives off a gaming vibe, thanks to its RGB lighting effects, which resemble a mini disco. On paper, it promises up to 50 hours of total playback time with the charging case, a great feature for those looking for extended use.
However, when it comes to actual gaming performance, the earbuds fall short. Despite its claim of lower latency—10 milliseconds lower than its predecessor—the improvement isn’t significant enough to fully satisfy gamers. In fast-paced games like BGMI, you may still notice some delay in sound synchronization, which can affect your overall gaming experience.
That being said, these performs well in other areas. If you’re a fan of bass-heavy music, this model might be a good fit for you. The vocals are also clear, making it a better choice for music lovers than gamers.
Earbuds You Should Avoid for Gaming
Not all earbuds live up to their claims when it comes to gaming performance. Here are a couple of options you should avoid, as they fall short in delivering low-latency, immersive sound experiences.
Boult Audio Z40
At first glance, the Boult Audio Z40 seems decent enough. It’s reasonably priced at ₹1200 and boasts an impressive 60 hours of playback time, which sounds appealing. While the design is satisfactory, the real issue lies in its performance.
Though the product advertises super low latency, it fails to specify exactly how low, and after testing it for gaming, it became clear that the performance was underwhelming. The response time in games like BGMI was poor, making it unsuitable for gaming. To make matters worse, the audio quality for music was disappointing as well—neither the bass nor the clarity of sound met expectations.
boAt Airdopes 181
The boAt Airdopes 181 is another budget-friendly option, priced at ₹1100, with a compact and cute design. It offers 60 milliseconds of low latency in game mode, which sounds promising for gaming. However, in normal mode, the performance leaves a lot to be desired. There is a noticeable delay, which makes it impractical for gaming unless you switch to game mode.
While it doesn’t perform well for gaming, but it’s decent for music. If you’re looking for an affordable pair of TWS earbuds for casual listening, and if you find them priced at or below ₹1000, they might be worth considering.
